Just the beginning...

Life goes by so fast. Each morning I wake up ready for another day and then it suddenly disappears. Like water through my fingertips. I try to hold on tight to each day but within a blink the day is gone. I tell Joe often how I wish I could grab an experience and put it in a jar, and whenever I wanted I could pull that jar out and pull out a memory and relive it. Like capturing fireflies in a jar I would catch memories. Instead of being a catcher of fireflies I would be a catcher of memories. I would have an entire plethora of jars if I could collect all those memories.

But maybe I don’t need a jar to capture all those memories. Maybe I am already a catcher of memories. And maybe I don’t capture them in a jar but in my heart. My heart is the jar. And I can look back on those memories whenever I want to.

(Deep Breath) Life is good. So, unbelievably good. It’s not always easy but it is good. I have learned so much in the last few years; I have learned so much about myself and about who I want to become. There have been many good experiences and many that helped me to grow and to become better.

The experiences that Joe and I have had since we have been married have been incredible.  We recently got home from Alaska back in August. It was hard in some ways, definitely a new experience. But I grew in so many ways. One of the greatest ways that I grew was learning to lean on Joe and lean on God more than myself.  From Alaska Joe and I flew to hot and glorious Mesa, Arizona; where we went to John (Joe’s twin brother) and Casey’s wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite moments was being in the LDS Mesa temple to see John and Casey be sealed for time and all eternity. It definitely struck my heartstrings. From Arizona we drove to Round Rock, Texas. One of our most FAVORITE places in the world…its one of the places we like to call home. In Round Rock, We spent time with Joe’s family and then drove Casey and John to Galveston, Texas; where they set off on their honeymoon adventure. From Texas Joe and I went to Utah to visit my family and to head back to school in Rexburg, Idaho at BYU-Idaho.  After the semester Joe and I spent Christmas with my family. It was a neat Christmas break because my parents were sealed in the San Diego, California LDS temple. It was such a good experience. My Mom died when I was 16 years old and my dad met a wonderful woman named Amy who had four beautiful children. They were married a few years ago and we all became a family. Which has been such a good experience. On December 31, 2011 they were sealed in the temple for eternity. It was a beautiful day, full of a lot of meaning and special experiences. Something that was neat about the whole experience was that my little brother Matthew who is on a mission in San Diego, California was able to attend the sealing. It was so neat to see him! It was neat to have the whole family there together and most of us in the temple. During that trip we were able to stay and visit Joe’s aunt and uncle and cousins. It was so fun to be able to spend more time with them and get to know them more and more, even though I feel like I have known them forever! Joe and I had a wonderful winter break.

Right now we are sitting in a beautiful home that belong to my Aunt Kim and Uncle Eric. They invited us to come live with them while we are out of school for our off track. It’s amazing how fast time has gone by. We have been here since January and it’s already March. Joe and I have been have a wonderful time. We really have enjoyed our stay in Alpine, UT with the Loveland family. It has been a great time to visit with friends and family that we haven’t seen in a long time. It has also been a good experience working for Daily Bread food storage. We knock doors, make phone calls, go to appointments, and sell food storage. It has been difficult in some ways but also very good.

Soon, Joe and I will be off again. We have become quite the travelers recently. But man, do we love the journey we are taking. We will be visiting Joe’s family soon and then back to Rexburg. Joe and I are looking forward to July when we get out of school and can take seven weeks to vacation partly for our two year anniversary and partly just for kicks and giggles.

Joe and I are so happy and enjoying life to the fullest. Definitely living big :)
